THE GREAT BRITISH MEAT- Digital communication.

The Great British Meat Co is an off-shoot of Freeman’s Catering Butchers, which started life as J Freeman & Sons in South Shields in 1953.
I was required to think about creating a digital presence away from printed media using their existing brand and logo. Design a digital communication that can apply to different platforms. How to retain and keep people online and hyping The Great British Meat Company’s USP. (Work was presented only for Newcastle College audience).
For the background I chose a blackboard which is used in most butcher shops or restaurants to write prices and menu. This gives my piece a authentic feel. From the beginning I wanted a rustic style, in the end it was not so but it has a bit of that feel, for example the text looks similar to white chalk on the blackboard. The cow with the glasses however came as inspiration from my research and from the task as a whole.

I had a few problems to choosing the right font. From the bigging I like the fist example but it did not work on the small size. Then I had to research little bit to find finally the one. With the example of the number 3 I am more pleased.
This project was a great learning curve for me, I had never created such a weird and wonderful design. I did not grasp the concept at first as I thought that the idea of advertising meat so far away from the point was madness. Originally I thought that it should be plain and simple, good photography and a clean, simple line of text (similar to how I would see an inviting supermarket advert. However the brief made it clear that the client wanted to stay away from the typical, run of the mill designs and try something new. This project was created in October 2015.

Thank You for attention!!!
